Frequently asked questions
How long have you been a photographer for?
I've been a photographer since 2007, when I discovered my passion after picking up my grandparents' film camera, a Canon AE-1 (which I still cherish). Since then, photography has been my main passion. As for weddings, I captured my first wedding in 2013, and each year since then, the number of weddings I've documented has steadily increased.
This is our first wedding, what should we know?
Well for starters, weddings are awesome. Second, I'm here to help you throughout the day. With a decade of experience and over 300 weddings under my belt, I can definitely say that I've seen and experienced some crazy stuff. I will always ask if there is a rain plan for an outdoor wedding, I always recommend a wedding planner to help with the timeline and I'll always go above and beyond with anything you need.
How far do you travel and what is required?
I'll honestly travel anywhere, I just ask that any travel expenses be covered (such as flights, place to stay, etc). I've done weddings all over New England and some beyond (Canada being one location), and I love traveling, so really, I'll go anywhere you'd like. For local/New England weddings, I have a radius of 100 miles (50 miles each way) included at no charge.
We're down! How do we book the date? What's next?
First, send me a message through the book now link above, with all of the information. Then, to get everything locked in and ready to go, I typically require a retainer of 30% to hold the date, along with a signed contract, which can all be taken care of digitally. I also always like to FaceTime or meet with the couples I work with, as it helps to get know each other better and makes things way more comfortable on the wedding day.
How many photos will we receive?
There is no set number really, as it can always vary. For a full wedding, I usually take about 50-100 an hour (a rough estimate)
No matter the number, I can assure you that they will all be the best photos taken!
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Absolutely!
All of my "Collections" include a complimentary 45 minute engagement session as a way to meet, get to know each other and I’ve found that they help to feel more comfortable in front of the camera
Do you offer editing/retouching? Can we print the photos?
All of the images that you see have been edited for color, exposure and standard editing. The majority of the my work has not been retouched or heavily altered in any way, as I like to keep things as natural and close to the day as possible. Although, if it is something small, I'll definitely take care of it.
For more intricate retouching, I prefer to send the images to a lab that I work with to provide the best quality possible, which is an additional (small) cost per image.
Prints can be made right from the gallery of delivered photos and I can provide a full pricing guide upon request.
When should we expect to see the photos?
Usually for a wedding, my standard turnaround time is 6-8 weeks, however, I typically try to deliver weddings as soon as possible (this can also depend on how busy things are.) I always make sure to send a "Sneak Peek" of images the week after the wedding
For engagements and portrait sessions, the images are usually delivered about two weeks after the session date.
